Me, and how to reach me about this

I am Liam Gauthier. I publish kavzuno.com from Canada and I am the person accountable for everything described below. Anything to do with privacy comes to [email protected], which is the same address as everything else, because there is only one.

I do not ask you for anything

There is no form on this site, no login, no newsletter box, no comment field and no payment page. Not one of those was removed for privacy reasons; they were never built, because a page of two game write-ups does not need them. The practical result is that I cannot hold a name, an address or a card number, since there is no route by which one could arrive.

Two things exist without being asked for

The first is the server log. My hosting provider records the requesting address, the browser identification string, the time and the path for every file served, which is how a site stays online and how a fault gets traced. I do not read them for anything else and they are erased on the provider's own schedule, six months at the outside. The provider handles them for me under a written contract and for no purpose of its own.

The second is your email, if you send one. Your address and your words sit in my mailbox while the matter is open and are deleted when it closes, at the latest a year after the last message. I answer with the same address and nothing goes anywhere else.

Nothing is counted and nothing is sent on

There is no analytics package on this site, no advertising pixel, no external font and no third-party script of any sort. Every file the page loads is served from kavzuno.com. I do not know how many people read a given page, which is occasionally annoying and is the deliberate consequence of not measuring. Nothing is sold, rented, traded or disclosed, except where a Canadian law obliges disclosure.

I send no marketing mail either, so no consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation is sought, given or stored anywhere here.

What you can require of me, and who to complain to

Write and ask what I hold from your correspondence, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I do it and confirm it, well inside the thirty days the Act allows. If my answer does not satisfy you, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada takes complaints about a site like this one, and if you live in Quebec you may go instead to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Two more things belong here. Clicking a link to Google Play or to a retailer hands you to that company, whose own privacy practices then apply and whose behaviour I can neither see nor influence. And this site sets no cookie at all — the answer to the notice is kept in your browser's local storage, which the Cookie Notice explains in full.
